About the Speakers:
Mike Allen is the VP of Product Development at Terracotta. Mike is responsible for Terracotta’s product strategy and execution. He applies his technological know-how and keen market insights to develop new products that not only meet the users’ needs but also exceed them. With more than a decade of experience in the software industry, Mike’s expertise is with high-scale, performance-critical web solutions. Before joining Terracotta, he managed systems ranging from real-time trading in financial services to in-flight internet service in aerospace. Most recently, Mike was responsible for CA Wily’s Introscope Application Performance Management product line. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from University College London.
Eric Mizell is the Director of Solution Engineering, SE at Hortonworks. As the Director of Solution Engineering at Hortonworks, Eric helps companies solve their Big Data challenges with Hadoop by leveraging his knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem and integrated partners. Prior to Hortonworks, Eric was the Director of Field Engineering for Terracotta and prior to that he was the lead architect for a large scale insurance application. He has over 20 years of experience in IT which includes Network Engineering, Software Engineering and Solution Engineering. Eric has presented at NFJS, DevNexus, AJUG, and SUG.
Meeting Details:
The meeting will begin at 6:30pm allowing members time to network, arrive and enjoy pizza. At 7pm, BDUG will give an introductory welcome, and will be shortly followed by the presentation. After the presentation we will be giving away some awesome eHire Labs swag. Everyone has the option to head downstairs to Aja (restaurant and bar in the building) for networking and drinks after the meeting.
