Code for Humanity Challenges & Ideation

Want to improve society by good design or considering joining Open Hack Dec 4?
Using technology to improve the world is no small cause. While there are numerous organisations who work with problems in society they are not built in such a way that lends to cost effective and user centric designs. Sometimes they simply can’t afford this luxury since they are government funded or NPO’s (Non-Profit Organisations). This leads to large gaps in the services provided to the communities and citizens that need them most. Fortunately there are ways that civic engagement can allow everyone to contribute. Tech for good initiatives are launching in communities across the globe and the Code for Humanity Open Hack (http://openhack.io) is one such initiative.

During this workshop we will present solutions people are already building to address gaps in social services. We will also introduce user centric design and break up into ideation sessions to identify possible solutions to to specific groups of societies members. If you have never performed such workshops, no problem, guides will be present, just bring your creativity hat and let’s get the ideas rolling!
