Grains of data from the Sahara
Co-founder of Big Data Week, Ande Gregson, will be one of the many competitors joining the annual gathering in Morocco in the Sahara desert for the Marathon des Sables in April 2014: a six-day, 250k self sufficient ultra marathon, which is the equivalent of six regular marathons, considered to be the toughest foot race on Earth.
Highlight A Big Data Week Project
For the third year, Visualizing is thrilled to again support Big Data Week. We want to highlight the awesome work created by the community and are calling for you to upload your data visualizations for our Big Data Week Gallery. Projects should be related to this year's festival themes of The Internet of Things, Smart Cities, and The Quantified Self or focus on The Connected Society. On May 5, we'll debut the gallery.
Data Visualisation can change how we think about the world
‘Big Data predictions for 2014’ articles endlessly stream into my inbox, and the consistent apocalyptic undertone is designed to really get CEO quaking in their boots. But now a month into 2014 the message has been communicated loud and clear, we all need to use big data if we are going to survive.
